Mind Map from MS Designer
Mind Map

Sum it up – make a quote – identify some takeaways.
We often called them Summaries…
Even “After Action” reports.
Their design?
Take a nugget from the mass.

What did you get out of it?
What can you take with you?
What will make the most difference to your world?

When I was younger, I took notes with structure in mind.
Today? I carry several notebooks filled with data.
There is no necessary structure to the contents.
New subject? New Page.
Fill the book up.
When done, transfer the necessary…
Toss the remainder.

This morning, I was thinking about Mind Mapping.
In part, it is a software tool to organize a project or presentation.
Another part is the cross-connection between ideas and life.
Still, another way of thinking about this thought,
It’s how my mind works.
Connecting the dots, crossing the T’s, and recognizing a pattern.

I want a blank wall… with a center focus on me and my life.
Start drawing outward from the center,
The connections between my life, and my ideas,
That makes me who I am.
I’m not sure one wall will do it.

The longer I think, draw, doodle, or make a decision,
The more intense the thought becomes.
Buried in the gray matter between my ears,
Are the contents of my life’s experiences.
All my thoughts, emotions, likes and dislikes.

If I could make sense of it all,
What would the result mean to others,
Or me,
and more importantly?
What does this mean to God.

For the moment, I consider David…
Shepherd boy, King, man after God’s own heart.
I imagine him at each major place of life,
Sitting in the desert,
Guarding a flock, a kingdom, his heart.
At each juncture,
Where would his mind me?

Let The Mapping Begin…

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.
In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
Its rising is from one end of heaven,
And its circuit to the other end;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I shall be blameless,
And I shall be innocent of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
(Psalms 19:1-14 NKJV)

Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah,
and Jehovah is his trust.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters;
it sends out its roots by the river,
and it shall not fear when the heat comes,
but its foliage shall be green;
and he is not worried in the year of drought,
nor will it cease from yielding fruit.
The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked; who can know it?
(Jeremiah 17:7-9 MKJV)

Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is only in the Law of Jehovah; and in His Law he meditates day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivulets of water that brings forth its fruit in its seasons, and its leaf shall not wither, and all which he does shall be blessed.
(Psalms 1:1-3 MKJV)
