A horse is given blinders
A hauling ox may have a nose ring
Someone learning to drive
They should be limited in hours, speed, and riders.
Why? Learning takes time, true.
But distractions create major issues.
A horse can bolt and drag unsuspecting riders
An ox may shy, and a furrow end up crooked
A teen must focus on learning the skill,
And all distractions must be reduced to nil.
I mentioned recently how easily distractions come
But following them, no, chasing them,
It is like following Rabbit Trails in a warren.
Briars. Brambles. Too many junctures.
Paul teaches us that the power of winning a battle often comes from the power of controlling our thoughts. That’s where the battle of the mind is won!
…bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…
2 Corinthians 10:5
I know me. You know you.
What do distractions do for you?
For me, they are often time wasters.
I chase the things I’m interested in…
And that is not always the thing I should be doing!
