“You will continue to suffer if you have an emotional reaction to everything that is said to you.
True power is sitting back and observing things with logic.
True power is restraint.
If words control you that means everyone else can control you.
Breathe and allow things to pass.”
~Warren Buffett
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21, NKJV)
“He who has knowledge spares his words,
And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.
Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.” (Proverbs 17:27-28, NKJV)
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth,
but what is good for necessary edification,
that it may impart grace to the hearers.” (Ephesians 4:29, NKJV)
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good;
and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil.
For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
(Luke 6:45 NKJV)
Early this morning,
I was thinking about phrases and words
And how some have the most unique talent
To string them into sentences that capture my attention.
A song written and sung by an entertainer, Jeff Daniels,
Recently grabbed my attention by the guitar, melody,
But more importantly,
The words.
“You were there when I was falling
You were there when I fell in love
You were there when I was thinking through
All them things I was thinking of
You were always right beside me
Never out of sight
You turned my never evers into maybe I just might.”
(Emphasis Mine...)
The power of words… He’s talking about his guitar, but it could be about anything you think important in your life. The power of words…
