Bible, Sun, Light and the words Freedom
Freedom, Dawn's Light, Till Setting Sun

Bound, enslaved, locked down, tighter than a drum
The noise of pounding, banging against the bars
It’s not just a single person or three or twenty.
All of us. Crying out. Yearning to be free.

Sin unlooses our freedom cry.
Don’t let it win, or thus, we die.
Freedom is gone. The bonds are tight.
Nothing is winning. That’s our undoing.

This morning, I write that the sun has won the night
Just like I feel victory and delight, sin loses the right
To throttle my voice, my journey out of the night
I refuse to let sin win. Come on! Fight! Freedom is right!

The Bible is the journey
From bondage to light,
Darkness defeated, we move from
Losing to winning.

Over. And again. It’s a story told each generation.
When, like the height of that roller coaster mountain,
We love to see the sights ahead.
Dizzingly, as sins delight, we fail, we fail, and see our endings.

Freedom lost. Sin wins. That’s how we think it to be.
But wait! Day conquerors the night.
Burst from the down, up to the light.
A journey from the pit to heaven’s delight.

Now. Work hard. Keep Freedom in your voice.
Don’t let the night, sin, or emotion win the battle,
There’s still a war. Fight hard. Fight On!
Win. Victory! Reward! Freedom….Celebrate the Lord!

Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!
While I live I will praise the LORD;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
In that very day his plans perish.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God,
Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever,
Who executes justice for the oppressed,
Who gives food to the hungry.
The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.
The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;
The LORD raises those who are bowed down;
The LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
The LORD shall reign forever—Your God,
O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!
(Psalms 146:1-10 NKJV)
