Me... Life...

AI responds so well when all I need is something short.
Make it feel like I’m young again, I ask, especially
When writing too much was never the problem.

(AI gets all the credit.)
In the golden haze of youthful dreams,
Where time’s gentle touch paints vibrant scenes,
To dance once more in innocence’s embrace,
Where worries fade, leaving only grace.

Oh, to roam again through fields of green,
With boundless energy, a heart serene,
To taste the sweet nectar of life’s refrain,
And reclaim the joy of youth’s domain.

Rewrite, if you please, as if I’m a 10-year-old.
Remember when?
Long days of play, come home when it’s dark!
That idyllic time of few responsibilities.

(I cleaned this up a bit…)
In dreams of gold, where skies are bright,
I’m happy to be young, oh what a sight!
To run and play with all my might,
And feel the world with pure delight.

In fields of green, I’ll skip and spin,
With laughter bubbling from within.
To be a child, oh, what a thrill,
To explore, imagine, and just be still!

I glance at my coffee bar…just off to the right.
Hanging on the wall is my red rubber knife.
And an envelope from an antique junk store,
It’s postmarked with my birth year and a place to store fishhook.

I watch the screen as my finger taps the keyboard
Lessons I learned well nearly 60 years ago
What was well learned then has been well used now.
That’s the way of youth. That’s my life as I aged.

If I had my mind then as from today, now,
What else would I be writing about?
What more would I have accomplished
If my mindset now was found back then.

Oh, to be young again
With the knowledge of where I’m headed
The changes I would make along the way
I’m sure, yes, I’m sure things would be different now.

I have been young, and now am old;
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken,
Nor his descendants begging bread.
(Psalms 37:25 NKJV)
