The Art of Conclusion

During this past night, my mind opened up an imaginary dialogue in a certain situation I’ve faced, and with that thought, I’ve faced it more than once. But every time you deal with the issue, though similar, the names and moments are full of situational glory. However, the morning sun’s light does not bring the words to the daytime. It must have been a fabulous closing argument because the results differed from reality.

So, I’ve thought about it this morning and realized a successful conclusion comes from the storied path from the beginning to the end.

A positive conclusion? A laid-out path through life’s successes and failures, but the ending is in mind no matter the hurdles or bumps.

I summed up my middle-of-the-night dream with this thought…

Concluding anything doesn’t mean you always have the last word.

Time will separate us to our paths, and we may never know another’s conclusion until we reach yonder. The best we can do is to be faithful to our calling, for ourselves and those on the same path as you.

Our challenges make our walks unique.
But the end will judge our character
It will matter little how many times you fail,
But did you make it safely there from here?

What we do at each crossroads or subtle bend in the road,
It will tell how we are influenced. Listen! This is your tale.

To slam a door feels good, but if you need a return?
Will you at least let it close softly? Maybe a crack opening remains.

Burning Bridges, Jumping to Conclusions,
Along with Famous Last Words… We’ve all played that game.
But it’s dangerously bandied about, extremely,
When you feel you are right and others are wrong
And you have not availed yourself of better insight.

You make your conclusion…take that final step.
Quickly judge. Are you correct? Or have you been wrong about it all?
Those micro-conclusions along the way, though by degree or mile,
Will you make your landing ill-fated?
Is it the wrong shore or far from home?
Gold. Silver. Precious Stones. Wood. Hay. Or stubble.
Oh, my. I had better rethink my position.

The conclusions are final. Right? Maybe. It depends on the timing. We make micro-conclusions along the path, leading to that final conclusion before the throne. As long as time is before us, we can adjust our walk to make better choices so our conclusion will be better stated. When those books are opened, and we are finally judged, His conclusion will make the difference. For us? It will be too late.

Remember a very important thought process:

For whoever shall keep the whole law,
and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
(James 2:10 NKJV)

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NKJV)
