Just Another Day

I’m entering the new year lighter. No, not my weight. That’s still a struggle. No. I’m talking about some big, important words. You probably have your list, but this is mine.

Distraction.

Of course, there are many other words also that fit.

Prepared for the challenge

Maybe that’s the reason for my thought today. I spent some important time yesterday decluttering my contacts. Names and phone numbers that go back 30 years, and you cannot remember why or who?

Trimmed!

The same goes for social contacts, no matter the platform. Before you think you’re on that list, you’re likely not. You worry. This means you’re connected. That’s a good place to be.

Deleted. Along with banished and blocked.

My entrance to the next year has a purpose. It’s my last year in my 60s. Why keep what I don’t use, nor ever need me? There’s a big room for unloading. I took a box of Bibles and study books to the church so anyone who want them can find them.

Given Away!

Are those boxes piled in storage for a purpose? Make use of them all or…

Gleaned and weaned!

2023 was a good year. We made great strides in decluttering. Oh, but 2024 will be epic! Imagine the space we will reclaim!

I read of a family traveling around the globe by sailboat. Parents, kids, and a pet. There’s only so much room to be had. They bought nothing unless it was to replace something broken. No banners, T-shirts, or mementos from far-off-ports.

Hmmm. I guess I need to think this one through.

Regardless. My next year will end with a lighter load in my home and on my body.
