It takes a few seconds of not watching, and the pot boils.
You read the word “four” and wonder where the “u” went in “forty.”
What makes you go from hot to cold to hot as quickly as snapping your fingers?
A perfect room temperature is 63. The thermostat says it’s 65, and you feel like you are in an oven.
This morning, I’m thinking about how close we are to perfection, and suddenly, the world comes crashing down around us.
Why do things switch so callously quickly, leaving us struggling with differences that are so close?
We arrived at our destination, and the thermostat said it was producing heat to warm to 65… Well, that won’t do! I set the temp down to 46, so at least the unit would cut off. All night, our inside temperature never dropped below 63, even with all windows open.
Inconsistent!
When I want it to be an icebox, then don’t hold me back!
Again, this morning, I was thinking how there’s very little conversation in the Bible about heat or cold. It’s just the way it was, and they didn’t seem to think it important to note. Why am I so different?
I told someone the other day, “Roll with the punches…” which is a lot like “Go with the flow.” Accept it, but don’t let it set you back. There are inconsistencies for everyone!
I’m writing for myself this morning. A journal thought about the inconsistencies we deal with every day, and sometimes every moment, and how they affect us so royally.
Maybe the thought came from someone on X that said,
“Don’t blame the clown for acting like a clown…
…Ask yourself why you are even at the circus.” ~Rick Godwin
