As Tuesday came to a close, idlly I sat at my computer.
It’s often there, I think, maybe even where I’m better.
I remember my thoughts because I write them down.
From the 100’s of drafts, stored thoughts for another day,
I’m not surprised when something clicks…
It’s one day past Monday. What’s next?
This week, I learned of my friend’s passing. On Monday.
That was Labor Day, a holy day, trashed due to the news.
In 2019, in just weeks from now,
I learned of my sister’s passing at 36,000 feet in the air.
These two are gone, intertwined by life and a day both share.
Monday. Same Month. Weeks apart.
Monday is not always my best day.
Not for reasons others may have.
It’s not blue; thinking about going back to work. Why?
I’ve made it my day of doing nothing. Why?
Because I can. It’s my downtime of nothing,
But Tuesday is here, and I pause to think of yesterday.
I sit and think, feeling almost it seems for the other shoe to drop.
I don’t wait anxiously but trust in the plan eternal.
The Lord knows His timing, and even if I knew to warn,
There’s nothing I can do nothing about it. Just Trust.
Something about Monday.
It’s that day after and before,
But don’t let this thought linger.
It’s just a day. The same Month. What more?
I don’t walk into Monday thinking it will be the worst.
Monday is often my best day of recovery,
Sunday is a day I work. Tuesday is the First of Focus.
I don’t let Monday get me down.
God’s Word speaks across the years.
This is the day that He has made…
Whichever day you are in. Rejoice! Be Glad!
Psalms 118:24, if you need the reference.
In good times or bad,
We must keep our perspective.
Monday in our term was, but
The second ordered day of Creation.
Don’t let a day become a remembrance of something gone wrong.
Go down that path, then every day of the week is bad.
Because life happens, and we live through ups and downs.
Don’t keep dwelling on the negative. Time is too short for that feeling.
Look around. Behold God’s beauty and purpose surround us, so abound.
