Crossroads and Choices

Life is about what happens along the way
From conception until you find
You are six feet under.
Whoa! Is that all there is?

Think about it like this.
You may not control the beginning.
But once on the pathway to maturity,
Most of how you make it is up to you.

Some are blessed with many years.
Others struggle with a lot fewer.
Some ride high in the saddle,
Others struggle with even seeing a good day.

Regardless of the years,
Good, Bad, or somewhere between
It’s been my view, long since held,,
Life is what you make of it.

Lyrics, snippets of poems, and good writing
Slips through the cracks of everyday life
Embedded scriptures, good and full of warning
Years of instructions and examples, yes,
But still, Life is what you make of it.

We stand at crossroads often.
The choice is ours to make.
Straight? Left? Right? Or pause for a while.
Behind many a driver, I’ve watched their struggle
Can you not just make a decision? Go!

Before I reach the crossroad of choice
I plan to know what I will choose.
That comes from long-range planning.
All the while dealing with short-range needs.

The morning came early, as it typically does.
With good news from my mom, I looked at the clock.
I could lie around doing nothing, but…
Every day is important, so I make a choice.

What if the choices you make at today’s crossroads
Are examples of your final set of options?
So, make the best choice.
Each decision shows the person you are.

Words for you are nothing.
Unless they help you choose.
Do nothing or something,
Choose Right, not Wrong!
That’s all I have to say.

Deuteronomy 7:6-11 NKJV

“For you are a holy people to the LORD your God;
the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself,
a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you
because you were more in number than any other people,
for you were the least of all peoples;
but because the LORD loves you,
and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers,
the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand,
and redeemed you from the house of bondage,
from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
“Therefore know that the LORD your God,
He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy
for a thousand generations with those who love Him
and keep His commandments;
and He repays those who hate Him to their face,
to destroy them.
He will not be slack with him who hates Him;
He will repay him to his face.
Therefore you shall keep the commandment,
the statutes, and the judgments
which I command you today, to observe them.
