Slow Down. Please. But I like to go fast!
Speed up! No. I need to go slow!
Opposites do not attract, says I.
When they are diametrically positioned.
You can’t do both at the same time.
But you should choose the one needed
And not be pressured when you think
The other one is demanded. Slow. Fast.
Life can speed up when you want it to slow down.
I’ve felt the conundrum during the past week.
I want to choose one or the other,
In control, I pick the one I need most.
Jesus asked if the disciples could not tarry with him for an hour
They slept. It was late. The day had been stressful. Judas?
Last supper. Foot washing. Teaching. Passover.
And now, midnight prayer. Watch and pray. Temptations are strong.
The spirit is willing, oh yes, but the flesh is weak.
Give in to the flesh, and you’ll always lose.
Hang on to the Spirit, and you’ll win forevermore.
Just do not let your desire for speed be your downfall.
Slow Down when it’s necessary.
Speed up when it’s needed the most.
Make hay while the sun doth shine.
But always be ready to slow down to kneel time
