It’s not that you cannot do it,
But growing up, we often heard these stern words
The house is crowded and not the best place
If you are going to do that, “Take it outside.”
If you are going to do some “rough-house,”
Then the yard is a better place to be
There are things you just don’t do inside
Because of the fragility of what’s there.
In today’s world, we bring the big bad world inside
All the struggles, fights, and wrongs are brought home
But many things should not be shared inside
If you are going to deal with it, do it outside.
Protect your home. It’s sacred.
Keep struggling and wrestling. if needed,
But keep it away from tender ones.
Fight the Battles outside!
Protect the church, and do not let turmoil enter
If you need some work handling the challenges
Let’s take it outside the sanctuary from where
Many are struggling to find a place of peace.
Imagine Solomon’s Temple.
A place of holiness and the presence of God,
In the midst of construction,
The Bible tells us how they handled it.
This morning, my thought was simple.
Secure peace from the turmoil.
A place that’s sacred, where no fight is found.
Guard it tightly. Everything else, take it outside.
1 Kings 6:7 MKJV
And when it was being built,
the house was built of stone
made ready beforehand.
And there was not heard
in the house a hammer or an axe,
or any iron tool,
while it was being built.
