Every day we should be thankful
For the life we’ve been presented with to live
The choices we’ve made are our own
But the blessedness of our next breath?
Wow! What an experience!
For reasons known only to me
I woke up thinking about my life
What I’ve done, where I am
And where on earth am I headed?
Downtime always produces such thoughts!
Politics and diseases always seem.
To exist on the same playing field.
Each one is frustrating, sad, and on the one hand?
Fearful. How did we end up here?
But to end up near the last quarter of life
Pause… Think… Life… Whoa!
It’s been a blessing to me, but have I
Been an equal blessing in return.
This is truly the thought of my morning.
When I’m gone, will I be truly missed?
Or not even a blip on someone’s radar?
When I’ve been given much, what do I do?
To whom much is given…much is required.
It’s time to give a deep moment of pause.
Consider your life as a whole and parcel.
Are you what you thought you could be
Back in those days of yore?
It’s never too late to change,
A difference you can still become.
When you’ve received so much and take it for granted
Be quick to consider how you’ve given in return.
One last thought, and perhaps it’s a given
But we’ve all gotten to where we are due to others
And our own dreams and desires.
Do not fail your family or friends along the way.
They need you, even if you are unsure you need them.
Forgive the past, and then? Forget it.
Life is easier lived with a clean slate.
For all the woes you’ve been given, I think…
We’ve all equally given in return.
Even for those who are not perfect,
Don’t let their errors affect your connection to them.
