When my choices about me are left up to me,
I’m quick to put things off until last.
Last day, hour, minute, or even moment.
There’s something about waiting that defines me.
Why? I don’t know. I’m normally a planner.
Projects, tasks, deadlines all – goals to meet.
But I know when the weight of personal and not,
I’m in a quagmire to get anything done on time.
I don’t have an assistant, and maybe I should.
But that means relinquishing authority and control.
But no one does as well as I want it, or so I found.
Especially when it concerns me. Uh oh. They may do it better!
Managing a business, church, or project – that’s easy.
You have people who are hired or volunteer to do it.
Set the stage, step back, let them be, and let them go!
They have the insight to accomplish the end.
When Jesus was on the cross, he looked at John.
Behold your mother. Woman, behold your son.
It was almost as if he passed the baton…
From one to the other, and then it was done.
Maybe that’s our goal. Do what we can.
Let loose everything else. Ahha… Deep breath. Contented.
Others will do it differently, and that must be okay.
Because they are so different than you.
They have their own way.
It is said you never grow until you build your team.
That includes getting those who buy into your dream.
Rewards are not always tangible but seldom unseen.
When you build eternally, your reward is then and not now.
I must learn to let go when it’s left up to me.
It’s about letting loose and helping others grow.
If you want success that is a legacy through the years,
You must quit thinking about yourself. It is about them.
