To everything, there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, And a time to die;
A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill, And a time to heal;
A time to break down, And a time to build up;
A time to weep, And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain, And a time to lose;
A time to keep, And a time to throw away;
A time to tear, And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;
A time to love, And a time to hate;
A time of war, And a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NKJV
Fresh thought this morning. Not based entirely on Scripture, nor on scripture made popular by the rock group Byrds. The song was written by Pete Seger in the ’50s. Go figure.
A friend shared something with me and I ended up with this thought. [Not a poem, just prose.]
Nothing Happens Overnight
Wealth does not just happen,
Nor brings immediate success.
Health is gained only when two things happen,
Commitment, and then a lot of work.
Weight never flees on its own,
it takes you, joined with time to make it work.
Great strides are made when we know
Whose we are and from whom we came.
We stand on the shoulders of our forefathers and mothers
Who opened doors with much hard work.
They passed their growth,
from generation to generation
Receive the bounty,
Treat it right,
Don’t hold it tight!
You take the blessing and pass it along
Future generations will stand on your shoulders.
It all takes time and is done in its own time.
Life is nothing about instant success
There is a season to grow, and growing takes time
Health, wealth, happiness, and success – nothing happens overnight. It takes time to plan, and build. What you do is not just for now, but for generations to come. Everything takes time but can be undone in a flash.
“It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation,
and only one bad one to lose it.”
~Benjamin Franklin
