I’ll admit, I’m hooked on abbreviated statements that speak to the moment. I read and hear them every day. I’m constantly bookmarking them and transferring them into documents for future reference. Yet, there are times when I pause and think about what I’ve just experienced. Equally, since I’m a spiritual person, I find these statements have great value in understanding them from that stance.
Regardless of which way you choose to pay attention, that’s The Power of A Short Statement at the Right Time:
“Notice what you’re paying attention to. Is it adequately paying you back?”
~Ralph Marston
Our attention span and focus create diversions from which we often never recover. Pay Attention!
Distracted Driving at its worse!
This is not just about voices or technological marvels, and this is also about where you are investing your focus. Investors understand this, and they invest in ways that have paybacks. Sometimes there are huge gains, sometimes little gains, but the focus is on attaining value.
A very wealthy man said something like this: Never work for money, but let your money work for you!
The Power of a Short Statement: Our attention span and focus create diversions from which we often never recover. Pay Attention! Share on XIn Paul’s first letter to Timothy, he writes: [emphasis mine]
Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare,
and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,
for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:6-10 NKJV
Godliness is essentially Holiness, Piety, or a Devout Life. That’s where you find your most significant gain. Love money, and you’ll probably find all kinds of evil. Schemes to pad the wealth exist everywhere and all the time. Tune-up your focus! Make your life follow a better path!
Pay Attention!
