(Warning… No Rhyme Intended, So None Will Be Found)
Struggles Here, Struggles Everywhere
Need money? Get a j-o-b
Start a business, meet a need
Do what you love, Or not, Just do
Opportunities abound, time to start afresh
The only thing stopping you?
Don’t let it be said,
It’s easily said of self and you.
We are perhaps our own worst enemy
We’ve sat too long, Pandemic cornered
Listening to naysayers of
Doom, gloom, and much fear
Get up. Let’s Move. Make the best of it.
The struggles are real
We see and experience them everywhere
Families, Work, Shopping, and more
It seems the fabric of life is tearing.
A restaurant I know struggles to open
Pandemic has changed everything
With sickness, or isolation, or what?
It’s said all over, people don’t want to work.
A phone call yesterday
I appreciated the time
Instead of meeting in person
It didn’t even cost a dime
Churches, companies, and schools
Struggling, online, zoom, and teams
We know streaming will never satisfy
Human Interaction, they say, we all need
Where do we go from here?
What does the map even say?
We keep looking for solutions
But find the struggle is real
Apocalyptic themes run rampant
Everyone fears the end
Do we realize where we are?
It will get worse before we end.
A loner I surely am, but time and again
A physical presence I need
Too long it’s been between some of us
Let’s not waste this opporunity
Perhaps its best, let’s just quit
A reset of humanity?
Someone says it’s time.
Not me. I’m a fighter. Let’s Roll.
Someone needed human interaction
Extra funds would be nice
So why not get a job
Fill the need with doing, not sitting
Buildings are vacant awaiting the workers
It may never get back to what once was
Repurpose the space, let other’s create
There’s a tremendous opportunity
Please don’t waste
What situation are you facing?
Find a friend, near or far
Please, never let it be said
You are struggling and no one cares.
