Packing with a reason
Packing with a reminder

My message today, “Don’t Forget Where You Are Packing For”…
There is no time like the present to be reminded why we are here, what we need on this journey to be prepared for that sudden exit to our destination.

Are you ready?

My last song with dad… (Yesterday was a year since his funeral)

This world is not my home, I’m just passing through
My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me, from Heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore
Oh Lord, You know, I have no friend like you
If heaven’s not my home, then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me, from Heaven’s open door…
…and I can’t feel at home in this world…no…more…

We’ve lost so many in this season. Something we never planned on going through.

Cancer. Heart attacks. COVID. Willful acts of violence.
Innocents caught in the middle of personal choice.
Accidents. War. Poverty.

I’m sure I missed some category. No one makes it through life unscathed.
But for the journey I’m on, I don’t want to forget where I’m packing for.

Moses tells Israel (from God), “Go Forward!”. (Exodus 14:15) Joshua tells them to choose who to live for, but as for him and his house, “We will serve the Lord!” (Joshua 24:14-15) Jesus says to be ready for in a moment you think not! (Matthew 24:44)

How do we prepare for the future? By packing the things we need now, along the way. The journey is traveling to that destination. Successfully. Paul tells us to awake out of sleep, our salvation is nearer than when we believed! Prepare by putting on that armor of Light! (Romans 13:11-14)

Are you ready? Don’t forget where you are packing for!

How do we prepare for the future? By packing the things we need now, along the way. The journey is traveling to that destination. Successfully. Share on X
