For weeks and months you’ve looked ahead to a time you are aiming for. Have you arrived? Is the trip over? Do you finally get to rest?
On the one hand, it’s a yearning. On the other hand, it’s a journey. Still, on the other hand, it’s a “why me” whining kind of moment!
We’ve arrived at our destination, and the first major “hurdle” of the event is over. There’s still much to do before we call it success, but the first bar is hurdled.
You can regret the reason, but you know the finished line is still ahead. Look! There are many hurdles ahead! Keep your game face on!
The Apostle Paul said to keep pointed to the prize of that “high calling” in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14) It’s not that you’re striving to win over a field of challengers, rather, you are striving to win over self.
That’s my view!
We are in this race together, and probably all have an idea of the perfect competition. We challenge ourselves against the clock, a record previously set, or even those next to us. But the greatest challenge is to realize you are in this race to win over self.
At Long Last… I know why I’m here. So. Let’s do it.
