Everyone seems to have their own viewpoint, and right or wrong, many struggle with telling a correct image of the truth.

Does anyone tell it like it is? Does anyone want to hear the truth? Or, are we only interested in our personal view.

Someone accused me of something, once or twice, and never wanted to hear my side of the story. Even recently. They wrote me, accused, and would not respond to my request for clarification. Then they had some else pick up their position and message me. Conversing back and forth made the situation more palatable, but unsatisfactorily handled.

The truth? I’ve been equally guilty of the same thing. I guess. Et tu?

Perhaps we should move into the realm of not immediately thinking the worse, hoping for the best, and realizing we all come to the stage with a personal perspective that could be right, or wrong, or even immaterial to the best solution.

The judge and jury is still out, but the damaged party is the innocent caught in the middle. Helpless. Unaware. Victim.

Here’s My Thought Today

However, I’m reminded of the words of Jesus we often call “The Beatitudes”, Latin for “blessing”. Could it simply be that we should be the first to give blessings even when we are on the opposite side of someone else’s view?

“And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
Matthew 5:2-12 (KJV)

I guess my point is this, “To err is human, but to err on the side of giving a blessing is better by far.”
