Moon Phases
Moon Phases

Quick thought this morning from me to you. It’s not that I’m thinking quickly, but that you will receive quickly, but if the Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth is garnered, then you will not see this as a quick thought.

I woke this morning and I’m sure I had just been part of a dream sequence that was involved with many players and storylines. It’s probably just my subconscious reorganizing and reordering all the thoughts of the past few days, but on the edge of memory was a Partial Thought. Just waiting to be considered and handled.

Now. What was it?

We’ve all done this. Walk into a room or run down to the store for a quick shopping excursion. Pause. No list. No written instructions. Then think. What am I here for? We back out, retrace our steps, and enter again. Sometimes it works. For me, often, I simply walk away and let my subconscious work on it. Eventually, the thought returns and I can complete the journey and relax. Job is done!

I’ve learned this situation often occurs when my mind is not fully engaged on a single thought. When I’m burning the candles at both ends, or I’m struggling to find enough time to complete a task while more duties simply pile on! I’m juggling too many things! Then, I know my life is processing at a very incomplete level. There’s a lot of partial thoughts waiting for the opportunity to find completeness.

This is my thinking today. I often feel like an incomplete person, just as if the moon is partially there (!), when there is so much happening and I do not have the time, nor energy, to finish anything! It’s like starting to tell a story and not finishing it because someone interrupts, or that flashy thing in the corner of your eye pulls your attention away. Then you forget what you were saying, and someone reminds you, but you cannot pick up the loose ends and make any sense of where you were headed!

I don’t want my spiritual life to be like this.
I want to be focused until the end!

The Apostle Paul says something profound for all of us who find the partially finished life is just waiting for closure.

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
and you are complete in Him,
who is the head of all principality and power.
(Colossians 2:9-10 NKJV)

Research! Read the entire chapter and you’ll get the entire picture! [Colossians 2] He’s talking to folks who have never seen him [Paul], yet have become believers of Christ, of whom they have never seen either. In my own way of reading, I find Paul telling them to not doubt their completeness in Christ just because they have not seen him. We don’t find any record of Paul having been with Christ before the resurrection, nor that he had any connection with him. Perhaps, Paul is also talking to himself!

Summary? If you are in Christ, then you are completely in him and not partially! You may feel like you’ve walked into a room to do something, and then not remember why you are there, but you must always remember that you are Complete In Christ even when you feel like you are in a fog!

In Christ, you are Circumcised in the Spiritual mode, and not the fleshly mode. You are Buried WITH him in baptism. You are walking with him THROUGH faith. And you are dead to your past but ALIVE together with him.

Peter, on the other hand, who was with Christ from the beginning of his ministry tells the readers of his first letter, that they should be rejoicing even though they have never seen him!

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
(1 Peter 1:6-9 NKJV)

So. In other words, your partial life is complete only when you wrap your past, present, and future in Christ! Before, you were simply a partial thought. Incomplete. But now? You are complete! In Him!

No more partials! No more walking a few steps and then wondering why you are here! No more temporary withdrawals from the complete thought of Christ! Committed. Dedicated. Focused Forward! Complete!!! No live it!

You cannot complete this thought without considering the words of Jesus to Thomas, that greatest of doubters!

Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
(John 20:27-29 NKJV)

Think these phrases through.

  • No longer are you a child, tossed to and fro, and carried by every wind of doctrine or the sleight of men just waiting to deceive you. Now, speaking the truth in LOVE, you grow up into him in ALL THINGS, which is the head of it all, Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 4:14-15)
  • No longer are you a servant, but a son of Christ and an Heir! (Galatians 4:7)
  • All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect (COMPLETE), thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV)
  • Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, give thanks to God for everything, quench not the Spirit, despise not prophesyings, prove all things, hold fast that which is good, abstain from ALL appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctifies (set apart) you WHOLLY! (1 Thessalonians 517-23)

Make a complete thought of yourself. You are complete in Him! You are not partial. You are not half a Christian. God is not completely done with you. There’s still some growing to do! There’s still some becoming to experience! But you belong fully to Christ!

What? You mean I’m not perfectly fine where I’m at?

No. I don’t think so. None of us are where we could, or should, be. As babies, we should desire that pure milk of the Word so that we grow. (1 Peter 2:2) We are to continually supposed to Grow in Grace and Knowledge! (2 Peter 3:18) Aiming for perfection never ceases! It is a daily walk! Else, why would we pray a daily prayer, live a daily life, read our daily bread, witnessing to everyone around us, and hope for a better tomorrow? Let us go on to perfection (completeness)! (Hebrews 6:1)

Repeat after me. I'm not a partial Christian. I wholly belong to Christ! I keep on growing in Christ! I may not be perfect, but perfection is my goal! Share on X

Say it again. No More Partials!
