Ok. I’ve touched on this way too much in recent weeks.
What’s your Purpose? What’s your Why? What’s your Do? These have all been questions to sort of point you in the direction of reviewing who you are, where you are going, and why you are involved in the effort of doing what you are doing.
Do you have the answers? Any of them? Are you ready for the next step?
Now’s the time to take ownership of it all and simply acknowledge your W-H-Y… There’s no better time than now to apply your accumulated knowledge and experience and make the best of the opportunity you have in front of you.
Why? Your educational experience has not only been in the classroom of your youth! Not if you have been living life as you should. Living only on the education of your past tells me you are not prepared for the here and now. I mean, I got out of high school in 1972 and took classes for 40 years before I finally decided to finish my degrees in 2008! But all I did in life was not based on that 1972 experience. Why?
Life is a learning experience from your birth till death. Never Stop Learning! Share on XI’m thinking of a father who taught his children how to die. Why? Because he had taught them how to live all their lives, and his job was not finished. There was one more thing to teach.
I’m thinking of something I heard last night from a wife to a husband. It went something like this: “You’ve been preparing your whole life since school days for this moment! Now! Do it!”
Know Your Why: I'm thinking of something I heard last night from a wife to a husband. It went something like this: "You've been preparing your whole life since school days for this moment! Now! Do it!" #attitude #purpose Share on XThis is the power of having life-long relationships that can bolster your confidence at the exact time of need. You will have nay-sayers on this long road of life experiences. Yes. They are a dime a dozen! But that true voice of companionship will recognize the talent and will challenge you to step up at just the right moment!
Every position I’ve ever taken has been full of education and learning to prepare for the next step. Every step will take me closer to my future. Every future moment gets me to my destination. When you look back over your shoulder at your journey, then you should be thankful that you kept your focus on continual growth.
I was thinking about Moses during all of this. 40 years in Egypt’s house, learning all they could teach. 40 years in the desert, learning all it could teach. Then, those infamous 40 years after Pharaoh led Israel to their destiny. 120 years of doing were peppered with the knowledge from the past, applied to the present, to take a nation to the future!
How does the writer describe him? “By Faith…Moses...” (Hebrews 11:24-29).
When you reach the end of your path, how will you describe yourself to those that follow? How will they describe you ahead of them as a leader? Take that knowledge of what you have prepared for, and claim it for the present because the future is waiting for you to arrive!
