Golden Nuggets
While reading books, social media, billboards and signs all around the world, I’m often struck with some nugget of wisdom, or comedy, that makes me wish I had a better memory for using them later in life.
Of course, some nuggets are born in the imagination of my mind and those are as valuable as some shared by others.
I have an uncle who is great at rolling one joke after another and I’m not sure how he stores them in his gray matter! I have another connection than can share one nugget after another, and, in fact, they are often called “Tennyisms” after his last name… (forgive it if I misspelled, it’s not in my dictionary!). I have a brother who always has great sermon illustrations and I’m not sure how he comes up with them, or shares them at the most appropriate time.
Repeatedly these nuggets disappear in the ether, and unless there is a way to store them, then I feel they are lost forever.
So… I’m starting a new category and will post to Golden Nuggets as they arrive…
Here’s an important one I received today…
“John’s exile didn’t produce an offended spirit or pity party.
It produced a book of revelation.
You choose what your Patmos will produce.”

Since I enjoy the writings of the Apostle John, and you may too, check out a video on Amazon called, “St John in Exile”. The late Dean Jones portrays John in exile on Patmos and finds him greeting you, the audience, to his cave. A Scriptorium…Right under the Roman’s nose…and that’s a lot of shade! (You have to watch it to catch the reference…)
